The newest character dining experience debuted at Walt Disney World Resort earlier this week. A Beyond Imagination Vacations’ client was among the first guests to be swept away by the food, atmosphere and character encounters at Storybook Dining at Artist Point. Today’s blog is all about the “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” character meal which is receiving rave reviews.
Storybook Dining at Artist Point is located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, a Deluxe-category resort in the Magic Kingdom area (although it is not on the Monorail line). Wilderness Lodge makes the ideal home for Snow White and her friends (okay, the Evil Queen is really an adversary) as the resort celebrates the rustic elegance of the American Northwest and “honors the beauty of the untamed wilderness.”
Artist Point sets the mood for the character meal as soon as you enter with touches like columns decorated as tree trunks and branches covering the ceiling. The storytelling continues with the leather-bound menu, welcome poem and apple keepsake signed by Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy and the Evil Queen herself, although she drops the adjective in her title. Evil is in the eye of the beholder, after all!
Although Snow White meets in the Germany pavilion at Epcot, the queen and dwarfs were not Walt Disney World regulars until now! Walt Disney’s first princess and her dim-witted and crabby friends will interact with guests at dinner tables, while the most misunderstood villain meets guests at her photo op spot. The Evil Queen isn’t known for her friendly demeanor!
The character interactions are one of the best on Disney property, but the real star might be the food itself - flavorful, perfectly-themed and fun. We’re talking lemonade potions for the kids and smoking mirror cocktails for the adults.
Appetizers and desserts are served family style, and the entrees are individually plated. The menu is elegant like the surroundings; but do not worry - your kids can order chicken nuggets if that suits their taste buds more than vegetarian steam buns.
The meal currently prices at $33 per child three to nine years of age, and $55 per adult - not including specialty non-alcoholic drinks and beer/wine/cocktails. The experience is an excellent use of a table-service credit on the Disney Dining Plan which includes one specialty drink or alcoholic drink (for guests 21+).
With an amazing atmosphere, elevated and innovatively-themed cuisine, and memorable character interactions, Storybook Dining at Artist Point is already the hottest dining reservation to be secured in all of Walt Disney World.
