Disney Announces Reservations to Open for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Disney Parks Blog shared HUGE news this afternoon. Reservations will open later this year for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (otherwise known to us Earthlings as the Star Wars hotel). Scheduled to open in 2021, the Starcruiser will be a completely unique, immersive experience.

How is it different than a stay at one of the other Disney hotels?

First, there’s a time limit. You can only book for a two-day, two-night vacation.

Secondly, you will live aboard a starship, rather than simply staying at a hotel. You’ll arrive at a terminal, like a small, private cruise terminal, then be ushered into a launch pod with a simulated experience of blasting into space.

The window of the capsule allows guests to see the starship in the distance, the Halcyon. As the launch pod doors open, guests emerge into the atrium of The Galactic Starcruiser, where passengers and the crew mingle.

The cabins are just as unique as the experience itself. They each feature a window with a view of other ships and galactic sights. Cabins can sleep up to five, great for larger families, with bunk beds similar to where Chewy sleeps in the movies.

Most importantly, you can live out your Star Wars dreams, playing a part in an interactive story. Both adults and kids alike can wield a lightsaber and face off against a training remote. You’ll take a tour of the bridge of the ship which houses the navigation and defense systems. The training comes into play as part of the larger storytelling.

Guests will take an excursion to the planet of Batuu using an exclusive transport straight into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There, you can ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and the newly-opened Rise of the Resistance.

The starship also houses an all-ages lounge - we’re hoping something like Oga’s Cantina with cool concoctions - and an engineering room where guests can “sneak” aboard..

We at Beyond Imagination Vacations CANNOT wait to make reservations for our guests, and of course, to check it out ourselves. We’ll certainly keep you updated as we learn more!
